7 Days to Die Leg Injuries: Heal Sprains & Breaks Fast
In 7 Days to Die, injuries like sprains and broken legs are almost inevitable, whether from a fall, a zombie attack, or a reckless vehicle jump. These leg injuries can severely slow you down, but with the right approach and supplies, you can recover quickly and get back to scavenging.
Sprained Leg: Waiting and Skill
A sprained leg initially lasts 10 minutes of real time, and the timer increases if you sprint. While sprained, you cannot jump or sprint effectively, making combat and exploration frustrating. By default, using a Plaster Cast or Splint on a sprained leg does nothing—you simply have to wait it out. However, once you reach Intellect level 3, you can invest points in the Physician perk to unlock the Intern skill. With Intern active, Plaster Casts and Splints will instantly heal a sprained leg. Until then, avoid sprinting and let the timer run down naturally.
Broken Leg: Immediate Treatment
A broken leg is far more severe—you cannot jump or sprint at all, and the recovery timer is much longer than a sprain. The good news is that you can treat a broken leg directly with a Plaster Cast or Splint without needing any skills. Using one of these items replaces the broken leg status with a milder debuff that drastically reduces the remaining recovery time. Even after treatment, avoid sprinting to keep the timer from increasing.
